3. Literally: Happy; fortunate. Old English: To cover something in blood to cleanse or purify. Christian blessing: Purifying sin and evil by the power of the blood of Christ. Good relationship with God and gifts from God.

4. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:3

5. “Blessed are you who recognize you’re spiritually helpless. You’re now trustworthy to get the Kingdom.”

6. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” ~ Matthew 5:4

7. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) Literally means: “Blessed are you when you regret what separates you from God badly enough to want change. Then, you’ll be reassured and renewed.”

8. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. ~ 2 Corinthians 7:10
