13 And can it be, that I should gain an interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued?

14 Amazing love! How can it be that Thou my God, should die for me?

15 He left His Father’s throne above (so free, so infinite His grace!)
Humbled Himself (so great His love!), and bled for Adam’s helpless race.

16 Tis mercy all, immense and free For, O my God, it found out me!
Amazing love! How can it be that Thou my God, should die for me?

17 Long my imprisoned spirit lay fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;

18 I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. Amazing love! How can it be
My chains fell off, My heart was free! I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. Amazing love! How can it be that Thou my God, should die for me?

19 No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living head, and clothed in righteousness divine,

20 Bold I approach th’eternal throne, and claim the crown,
through Christ, my own. Amazing love! How can it be that Thou my God, should die for me? ***

21 34 Is After 32 The Sounds and Sights of God’s Message
Thunder, Trumpet, Voice of God Himself Fire, smoke, Clouds, Worship Tent, priestly garments The people made great promises of commitment

22 However: They saw God only as an awesome, scary, powerful God.
They didn’t understand the relationship He wanted with them. They didn’t grasp the depth of the loving parent-child relationship to which God was calling them.

23 What happened in Ex 32.1-6? They expressed of their natural fears,
their lack of trust, and failure to be patient and obedient. They reverted back to what they had seen in Egypt. “If one God doesn’t work, try another” “Moses the magician is gone…” “This party is over, let’s go to another one”

24 Why was God so angry? Turned aside… Stiff necked…
The people had made a promise, but they had taken His covenant lightly. They relied on their own wisdom instead of His revealed message. They didn’t behave in faith and that always leads to sin.

25 The Intercession of Moses
Moses knew what they needed – Mercy, Forgiveness, Reconciliation He was wiling to sacrifice himself for his people Heb 11 Wouldn’t you love to have an intercessor like Moses? You have one, even better, in Christ!!

26 Merciful God Merciful God, O abounding in love, Faithful to all who draw near You; Hearing the cries of the humble in heart, Showing the cross they may cling to.

27 may my sin be remembered no more.
Broken I come, helpless in sin, Found at the feet of Your mercy. Father, forgive; may my sin be remembered no more.

28 Merciful God, O abounding in love, Faithful through times we have failed You; Selfish in thought and uncaring in deed, Foolish in word and ungrateful.

29 and return to the mercy of God.
Spirit of God, conquer our hearts With love that flows from forgiveness; Cause us to yield and return to the mercy of God.

30 Merciful God, O abounding in love, Faithful to keep us from falling; Guiding our ways with Your fatherly heart, Growing our faith with each testing.

31 overwhelmed by the mercy of God.
God speed the day struggles will end; Faultless we'll gaze on Your glory. Then we will stand overwhelmed by the mercy of God.
