2 The Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria and Slovenia - participating in the Comenius Lifelong Learning Project entitled ”A Bridge To The Students’ Active Life” All the partner countries have carried out investigation and research on the most desired and prestige jobs, and professions in their regions and countries. We have also compiled data on the necessary characteristics, skills and knowledge, which one has to possess for working in all these desirable jobs; where students can be educated and trained for the jobs. The presentation provides authentic and useful information and it is very interesting to see the differences between the countries. We would like to thank every partner for their cooperation.

3 France Health care assistant language skills: French; English acces to the job: professional degree; state diploma; three years studies personal skills and competences: good dose of patience and delicacy; ability to communicate; sense of listening; sense of observation working conditions: in a team/mainly female population; during the day ot at night (weekends included) Ambulance driver language skills: French, English acces to the job: driving licence; degree of state ambulance personal skills and competences: disponability; capacity to react quickly, emergency; patience and responsability working conditions: driving cautiously; first aid emergency; many hours disponibility 24 hours out of 24 hours

4 France Nurse language skills: French; English acces to the job: „A” level; state diploma; three years studies personal skills and competences: very good health; patience; ability to follow the doctor’s prescription working conditions: in a team/mainly female population; during the day ot at night (weekends included) Nursery nurse language skills: French; English acces to the job: „A” level; state diploma; three years studies personal skills and competences: interest in children; sence observation; ability to communicate; emotional stability; tolerance and sweetness working conditions: in a hospital or in a drop – in center

5 Poland Engineer language skills: English; German work experience: practice 2 months personal skills and competences: resilient; industrious; creative education and training: finished studies; eligible to builde Driver language skills: English; German work experience: not required personal skills and competences: polite; careful; patient; responsible education and training: driving licence Pharmacist language skills: English work experience: practice 2 months personal skills and competences: hard- working; congenial; responsible; determined; careful education and training: completed studies (MA on pharmacy)

6 Poland Factory worker language skills: English; German work experience: not required personal skills and competences: ambitious; sensible; lively; responsible education and training: completed education in high school Firefighter language skills: not required, but preferred English work experience: first aid training personal skills and competences: brave; calm; helpful; mature; reliable; responsible education and training: completed education in high school

10 Hungary Doctor language skills: Latin; English work experience: practice 2 months personal skills and competences: committed; smart education and training: university Welder language skills: not required work experience: only practice personal skills and competences: handicraft education and training: trade school

11 Slovenia Manager (It is a very tipical job.) Education: After the high school you must do 2 or 4 years at university (or somethiong similar). Why to study that? Most of students think that it is an easy way to get a lot of money. Lawyer Education and training: 4 to 5 yeras after high schools (one of 3 universities in Slovenia) You must get experiences which take up to 4 or more years (int hat time candidates work with lawyers). After that they have to do a special exam to get a lawyer’s licence.

12 Slovenia Doctor (or dentist) Education and training: 6 years after high school (in 2 universities in Slovenia). Specialization takes more years, but it isn’t necessary to do. Architect Education and training: 4 to 5 years after high school (in 1 university in Slovenia). After that You are full licenced architect (no obligatory practice). Teacher Education and training: 4 years after high school (1 university in Slovenia). You have to do several hours of teaching.

13 Bulgaria In the region of Dobrich, Bulgaria a survey has been carried out about the most desired and prestige professions among the different ages. The survey has showed the following results. In Dobrich region, it is prestige to work in the field of economy and management, law, tourism and medicine. Young people prefer also Information technology. Desired professions are those with financial security.

14 Bulgaria In Bulgaria people consider as prestige lawyers, IT specialists, politicians, and managers. Professions in the field of education, agriculture and engineering have low authority and respect in the society. Financial security is the most important factor for one job to be popular.
