7 Analysis data From the experiment Electrolysis of salt solution, we can see the change of color at the katode and anode.there is caused by the reaction that it happen at each electrode. The ionic reaction from the solution : NaCl (aq) → Na + + Cl - Na 2 SO 4 (aq) → 2Na + + SO 4 2- KI (aq) → K + + I - At the katode, there is have a reduction and at the anode is oxidation. The experiment use sodium and potassium that can’t be reducted.

8 Experiment that use blue litmus, sodium chloride solution after electrolysis at the part of catode there is no change of color (still blue),and at anode the color change be red and the end is white. Which is due at the anode,which is oxidized Cl be Cl2 which is strong oxidant that can obscure the color Pada percobaan menggunakan kertas lakmus biru, larutan NaCl setelah dielektrolisis pada bagian katoda tidak mengalami perubahan warna (tetap biru), sedangkan pada anoda berubah menjadi merah dan pada akhirnya putih. Hal ini disebabkan pada bagian anoda, yang dioksidasi adalah Cl - menjadi Cl 2 yang merupakan oksidator kuat sehingga dapat mengaburkan warna.
