STEWARDSHIP

The Question of OWNERSHIP 1 Peter 1:13-19 13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,

I Peter 1:13-19 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." 17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,

I Peter 1:13-19 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

I Corinthians 6:19-20 You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

The Question of OWNERSHIP Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein... Psalm 50:10-11 For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.

The Question of OWNERSHIP Exodus 19:4-6 4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself. 5... you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; 6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

God’s claim of SOVEREIGNTY Psalm 93 1 The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt... 2 Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting... 5 Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt... 2 Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting... 5 Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore. O Lord, forevermore.

The Question of INDUSTRY Proverbs 18:9 Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys. Proverbs 19:15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger. Deuteronomy 5:13 -14 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.

The Question of INDUSTRY Ephesians 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.

The Question of ABILITY Exodus 31:1-5 The Lord said to Moses, 2 "See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, 4 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, 5 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.

The Question of ABILITY Deuteronomy 8:17-18 17 Beware lest you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.' 18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth.

The Question of OPPORTUNITY I Corinthians 16:5-9 5 I will visit you after passing through Macedonia... 6 and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8 But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9 for a wide door for effective work has opened to me...

The Question of OPPORTUNITY James 4:13-15 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that."
