2 You then, my son, BE STRONG IN THE GRACE THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Written by PAUL 15 You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes. 16 May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains. [ 2 Timothy 1:15-16] 6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. [ 2 Timothy 4:16]

Written by PAUL 15 You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes. [ 2 Timothy 1:15-16] 9 DO YOUR BEST TO COME TO ME QUICKLY, 10 for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. [ 2 Timothy 4:9-11]

Written by PAUL  Who was in prison  Who was anticipating death  Who was lonesome due to colleagues’ ministry assignments and to desertion of colleagues

 Who was young & naturally timid  Who was dealing with false teaching  Who had a stomach ailment  Who let people took advantage of him finding it difficult to assert his authority First Letter of PAUL to TIMOTHY

Second Letter for TIMOTHY 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. [ 2 Timothy 1:6-8]

Second Letter for TIMOTHY  Whose enthusiasm for ministry is Fading  Whose timidity is Furthering  Whose fear for suffering is Feasible

Wise in Investing Time with People 17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33

2. Dedicated Soldier for Christ 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.  Be wise with your goals and priorities  Beware of worldly, temporal cares and values  Be always ready to please our commanding officer : GOD rather than people

31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.

Be committed to success, be obedient to the rule book 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8

Be obedient, love is action & love is obedience 46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” John 14:21

4. Hardworking Farmer for Christ 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.  Be persevering  Beware of laziness  Be expectant: Expect results Expect to be rewarded for your efforts
