7  Objectivity - Is there any other way to interpret the data/results?  Clarity - Will all stakeholders be able to explain the process back to you?  Validity - Are you measuring what you think you are measuring?  Reliability - Does it hold up in a number of ways/situations  Economy - How much time and money will it take to accomplish? -Dr. Volker Nolte

9  Work towards a selection that does not create a surprise result  Understand your integrity is on the line and how that can affect your coaching effectiveness in the future  Act in a respectful way - you may not know how hard someone has worked to then not be selected  If you make a mistake admit it and take full ownership  Understand that it is nearly impossible to create a perfectly objective selection  Remind the athletes that the best are able to rise above and are accountable for their actions  Constant reminders that you do not want to be on the bubble as you do not want to be caught having to deal with any subjectivity  Reduce as many variables as possible
