48 ResearcherID A free, online community where authors receive a unique identifier to eliminate author misidentification, increase recognition of one’s work (e.g., H-index) and facilitate global collaboration among researchers.
How Does ResearcherID Work? A secure web platform creates a system-generated unique identifier for each registrant As a free online community anyone can access and use ResearcherID, but privacy options are set and controlled by the registrant Allows connection from customer’s administrative systems for direct access to registry* Publication Lists can be built by uploading RID files or by searching Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science to build the list Interacts with Web of Science content to provide researchers with bibliographic data and citation counts Copyright 2008 Thomson Reuters
Who Should Use it and Why UserBenefit ResearcherBuild your own publication list and easily identify your colleagues’ bodies of work Avoid the common problem of author misidentification Search the registry to find citations, collaborators, speakers, editors and reviewers AdministrationEvaluative tool for measurement of institution’s scholarly research. ResearcherID Batch Services Creation of a ResearcherID allows for creation of an identification number, useful for association between a researcher and their scholarly works. The ResearcherID upload service allows an institution to create and/or upload publications for researchers through a batch process. The forthcoming download service will enable an institution to retrieve publication data about their faculty from ResearcherID for further analysis.
ResearcherID Batch Workflow ResearcherID sends institution information of accounts created, Including # of papers from in Web of Science ResearcherID sends institution publication data for requested researchers, including times cited information Batch Upload Batch Download Institution requests publication data from ResearcherID For all/selected faculty at the institution Institution Uploads account/pub data to ResearcherID
