6  Orcutt Academy is growing, but there are many ways to get involved: Student Government (ASB) Band (After School) Dances ClubsThis area is going to expand BE AN ACTIVE SPARTAN!

7  Must have a pass.  Seniors may park in the lot in the front of the school.  All other student drivers may park in the lot behind the school.  Students can not park in OJHS staff lot.  Passes must be purchased in the office.

13  Students are assigned a teacher 9 th grade year.  Students stay with teacher all 4 years.  Community service hours turned in to Spartan Seminar teacher.  Team competitions.  Curriculum:  9 th – Academic  10 th – Personal and Social  11 th – Career  12 th - Transition

18 History/Social Science - 2 years required: One year of U.S. History or ½ year of U.S. History and ½ year of civics or American Government. CSU requires one additional year of Social Science. UC requires one year of world history, cultures, and geography. English - 4 years required: Four years of college preparatory English Mathematics - 3 years required, 4 years recommended: Classes must include the topics of algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra. Approved integrated math courses can also fulfill this requirement. Laboratory Science - 2 years required, 3 years recommended: CSU requires one biological and one physical. UC requires classes in at least two of the following areas: biology, chemistry, and physics. Language Other Than English (Foreign Language) - 2 years required, 3 years recommended: At least two years of the same language. Visual & Performing Arts - 1 year required: One yearlong course in dance, drama/theatre, music, or visual art. College Preparatory Electives - 1 year required: One additional year in any of the above A-F areas or other approved elective.

19 The following guidelines can help you determine what counts for community service, Non-paid: · Service to a government agency · Service to a not-for-profit local, national or international organization · Service to a school or school organization · Service to a religious organization Some ideas for community service include: Homeless Shelters, Food Banks, Beaches Cleanup, Tutoring

20  Back to School Night – August 23rd: 5:00 – 6:00 – BBQ 6:00 – 6:30 – Welcome, Introductions PTA/Booster Meeting 6:30 – Classroom visitations  First day of School: August 15 th !  August 28 th – Picture Day

21  Business office will be taking the money for this.  Can send money to school with students.
