18. Dr. Umut Özcan was born in Tunceli in 1977. He went to Tunceli Atatürk Primary School. But he continued his high school education in Elazığ. He started Elazığ Anatolian High School and then he transferred to Ankara Science School. He received his MD degree from Cerrahpaşa Medicine Faculty of İstanbul. He worked with Prof. Dr. Hüsrev Hatami, Prof. Dr. Göknur Yiğit, Prof. Dr. Selma Yılmazer and Dr. Tuncay Altuğ. His study appeared in Science Magazine in 2004 and it was accepted in the best 5 diabet researches by Nature Magazine. Because he was so successful. He is a lecturer at Harvard University.
