For every action there is a an equal and opposite reaction If a first object exerts a force F on a second object, the second object will exert a force –F on the first. F -F

When a car travelling at high speed crashes into a light pole, the pole is damaged because of the force applied to it by the car. Why is the car also damaged? Newton’s third law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The pole will apply a reactive force to the car which causes the damage. 5
