Statutory Requirements

 Educators will understand the process to select and calculate an “Other Academic Measure” Learning Goals

 Other Academic Measures are additional alternative instruments ensuring a robust teacher(or leader) evaluation, capturing unique facets of effective teaching, and reflecting student academic performances impacted by the teacher (or leader). Other Academic Measures

 Each teacher and leader will make an annual selection of the Other Academic Measure (OAM) from a list approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Education.  Teachers and leaders must select an OAM that is relevant to their job duties.  Teachers and leaders must select an OAM that is currently in use in the district. An Overview of the Process Other Academic Measures

 Local school boards must ensure that teachers and leaders have at least two relevant OAM options.  Teachers who teach multiple subjects and/or grades are not required to select an OAM for each subject or grade taught.  Because the results of many OAMs are unavailable until after the current year’s evaluations are completed, current year OMAs will be added to the overall evaluation score the following year. An Overview of the Process Other Academic Measures

“The List” cont. Other Academic Measures

 Pending legislation suggests a delay in the Quantitative Portion of TLE (Value- Added Models), therefore, this option may not be available for the school year. Other Academic Measures An Overview of the Process

A teacher can only select this as an Other Academic Measure if the teacher has an individual VAM. Other Academic Measures An Overview of the Process

Example- An Algebra teacher will have an individual VAM; therefore they can use the VAM again for their OAM. However, a drama teacher would not have an individual VAM; therefore they could not use VAM as their OAM. Other Academic Measures An Overview of the Process
