Compiled and Illustrated from The Scriptures & The Spirit of Prophecy September 2014 Presents The Greatest Work on Earth The Greatest Work on Earth A Temple for God Part-4a A Temple for God Part-4a

In part three of “The Greatest Work on Earth” we learned that we are to cooperate with GOD in the building of our characters, point by point upon The Pattern of HIS Word. We learned that each day GOD is working on HIS building, stroke upon stroke, molding and shaping our hearts into a perfect structure, that it may become a holy temple for Him. And if we are to be a holy temple for HIM, and not an unholy temple, then we are called upon to strain every muscle and exercise every faculty in the struggle for immortality, which HE supplies to us, and not we of ourselves. By HIS Word, GOD has expended mighty energy to reclaim us from our transgression and sin, to walk in loyalty and obedience to HIM. With unceasing endeavor, we are to maintain the victory over the temptations of Satan, to persevere in the struggle for immortality in our own behalf. We all must engage in this warfare against the works of the adversary for ourselves. For the arrows of Satan’s temptations are aimed at the character development of both children and adults. This brings us to the need of our hearts being educated, to become steadfast in GOD, to form habits of thought that will enable us to resist temptation. To do this we must learn to look upward to Him, Who has overcome to be our Helper.

A Temple for God In Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, he wrote of This Temple, of which we are to be members and said, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16) It is said that…

GOD created by HIS Word… “From eternal ages it was God's purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator.” visible and invisible thrones, and dominions principalities, and powers heaven and earth man to reflect GOD’S Character by The Spirit of HIS Word, Who is The Light and Life of men. But… to reflect GOD’S Character by The Spirit of HIS Word, Who is The Light and Life of men. But… male and female

“Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for God....” When God came to fellowship with man, Man ran and hid from the only Source of Light and Life to man.

“God designed that the temple at Jerusalem should be a continual witness to the high destiny open to every soul.”

“But the Jews had not understood the significance of the building they regarded with so much pride....”

“The courts of the temple at Jerusalem, filled with the tumult of unholy traffic, represented all too truly the temple of the heart, defiled by the presence of sensual passion and unholy thoughts.” “The courts of the temple at Jerusalem, filled with the tumult of unholy traffic, represented all too truly the temple of the heart, defiled by the presence of sensual passion and unholy thoughts.”

“In cleansing the Temple from the world's buyers and sellers, Jesus announced His mission to cleanse the heart from the defilement of sin --from the earthly desires, the selfish lusts, the evil habits that corrupt the soul....” The animals were brought to the temple, to die because of the sins of the people, but the Jews had lost the significance of which they pointed.

“Only Christ can cleanse the soul temple....” “His presence will cleanse and sanctify the soul, so that it may be a holy temple unto the Lord, and "an habitation of God through the Spirit" (Eph. 2:22).” Christ is The One Lamb of GOD, That takes away the sin of the world.

“By this beautiful and impressive figure God's Word shows the regard He places on our physical organism and the responsibility resting upon us to preserve it in the best condition.”

“Our bodies are Christ's purchased possession, and we are not at liberty to do with them as we please.”

A divided heart. “Man has done this.” “He has treated his body as if its laws had no penalty.” for the earthly desires… or to desire GOD’S Will Do I seek… Continue on Part 4b Continue on Part 4b
