The Cheyenne and Sioux tribes were upset about leaving their sacred land of The Black Hills and living reservations.
So they decided to gather in Montana with the Great Sitting Bull to fight for their sacred land of Black Hills.
To force the Native American army back to the reservations, the U.S army of seventh cavalry dispatched three columns to attack the Native Americans. United States 7 th Cavalry
Colonel George Custard decided to attack the Native Americans early without knowing that the Indians were three times bigger than his army. Also, Major Marcus Reno underestimated the Native American advantage of the terrain and tried to attack the Native Americans.
Due to the underestimation of the opponent, the Americans were trapped and forced to withdraw by the Native Americans. The worst defeat of the this battle was when Custer and his men were killed by the Native American force of Ogala Sioux under Crazy Horse As a result, the Native Americans gained a huge victory over the United States.
