Testing Strategies you MUST do during the Reading Interim 1. Before you read, mark with a where you will ‘STOP and JOT’. You can stop every 2-4 paragraphs, depending on how long each paragraph is. 2. When answering the questions, GO BACK IN THE TEXT TO FIND EVIDENCE/ANSWER! 3. When you find your answer, EXPLAIN how you know your answer is correct using a college level sentence. - Example: ‘I know this is correct because the girl ‘grins’.
Where do we do the ‘Stop and Jot’s and Explain Our Answers: Stop and Jot: Explain your Answer Fold your sheet of paper in half. On the left, write ‘Stop and Jot’. On the right, write ‘Explain your Answer’.
Reading Testing Tips! Read the questions first before you read the passage. Read all the answer choices before you pick your answer. Use process of elimination to reduce answer choices. Check your answers before you ask for your bubble sheet.
