Fundamental Questions: Tips for solving Absolute value & Square root equations 1.Use parentheses liberally 2.Solve the equation to = 0, then replace 0 with y. 3.Now use your calculator. TI (Y=); Casio from Menu (Graph) 4.To get the absolute value: (Use parentheses) TI – Press Math Button, then go to NUM #1 Casio – Press Shift Catalog (#4); Scroll down to Abs 5.
