This school year, , all EOC and MAP tests will be written under CLEs and GLEs. Next school year, , all EOC and MAP tests will be written under CCSS; no GLEs and CLEs. This school year AND next school year, test results will be sent double- coded to show results by CLE/GLE and by CCSS. Performance Events return THIS YEAR for Algebra 1 EOC and on 8 th Grade MAP The District is still deciding if we will give Geometry and Algebra 2 Bonus tests this year This year’s freshmen are the first to take the SBAC CCSS test in their Junior Year We now use Acuity Software; no more Pearson Limelight or Inform MAP predictive test given grades 3- 8, 3 times per year Algebra 1 Diagnostic Test given 3 times in the year. First session of testing for Algebra 1 will be in the first 2-3 weeks of school. More info to come. More information about Acuity training to come. Acuity testing will be online and with clickers. State Testing: EOC & MAP District Testing TESTING CHANGES Information from DESE Math Director, Cindy Bryant Information from Dr. Beth Savidge, Asst. Superintendant
Changes at DESE Adopting CAS -Core Academic Standards- Includes CCSS Math, CCSS English Language Arts, Common standards in Science and Common Standards in Social Studies. As a part of the adoption of math CCSS under the Missouri CAS, DESE will NOT add 15% more standards. They will implement CCSS as-is. DESE has released sample CCSS units that can be used for ideas in implementing CCSS. These units are not curriculum documents. Our HS Common Core Team will be inspecting them in the months to come.
MORE DESE After this school year, DESE will eliminate all non-CCSS problems from their testing banks. Those non-CCSS problems will not be used in testing after this school year. DESE will not be involved in writing new problems for CCSS in the near future; they plan to utilize CCSS problems already in their problem banks in the years to come
We have begun a subscription to Next Navigator. What’s that? In conjunction with Bill Daggett and Successful Practice Network Access to teaching tools, CCSS aligned assessments and gold seal lessons. An online tool, that at this time is used by select administrators and coaches for resources. NEXT NAVIGATOR
