All were to be baptized. (Luke 7:29 NKJV) And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. (Acts 19:4 NKJV) Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” Was a return to God’s law (Law of Moses) and preparation for the Messiah. (Mark 1:8 NKJV) “I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” [also, John 1:33; see Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:5] (Luke 3:16-17 NKJV) “… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. … He will … gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.” [also, Matt. 3:11] Note: There is no baptism “of the Holy Spirit” i.e., administered by the Holy Spirit.
