2 When it began… When was it created? When was it created? -The international Baccalaureate program was created and founded on October 28, It has grown rapidly since its creation (about 20% per year). Where was it created? Where was it created? -It was founded in Geneva Switzerland, originally as a non-profit educational foundation. Who created it? Who created it? -A group of forward-thinking teachers at the International School of Geneva. -Also done with the assistance form several other international schools. -The organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop these programs.

Why was it created? -It’s mission was to focus on the student and create inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people. -To create a better world through education. -To promote intercultural understanding and respect. Originally, the program consisted of a pre-university curriculum and a common set of external examinations for students in schools around the world.
