Bow the Knee Putting Lordship back in Worship A Proper Understanding of the Lordship of Jesus Christ Psalm 33:8; 4:4

Introduction (Psalm 33:8; 4:4) What happened to Worship? Is it only an emotional exercise now? Our view, our attitude towards Jesus as LORD has a lot to do with why people don’t worship much today What does the Lordship of Jesus mean? Worship, without Lordship is empty!

Modern Worship (2Timothy 3:1-5) Our modern world knows little of the LORD Jesus Christ Modern Bibles have removed the Lordship title from Jesus in DOZENS of places This modern religious kind of thinking has affected our world AGAINST GOD! They have lost respect for God simply because Christians have no respect for God! Satan has employed every force at his command to cause God's people to bypass, or omit altogether, the LORDSHIP of Jesus. Modern worship will NOT work! Matt. 28:6 Mark 9:24 Mark 11:10 Luke 7:31 Luke 9:57 Luke 13:25 Luke 17:6 Luke 22:31 Luke 23:42 Acts 7:30 Acts 9:5 Acts 9:6 Acts 22:16 Rom. 6:11 Rom. 14:6 Rom. 16:24 I Cor. 10:28 I Cor. 15:47 2 Cor. 4:10 Gal. 6:17 Eph. 3:14 Col. 1:2 I Thess. 1:1 I Tim. 1:1 I Tim. 5:21 2 Tim. 4:1 Titus 1:4 Heb. 10:30 2 John 3

The Pre-eminence of Jesus (Colossians 1:16-18) What Lordship means – let Him lead! What Pre-eminence means – He’s everything He is the Lord Jehovah God, come down in the flesh (John 1:14) Elizabeth called Him Lord (Luke 1:43) He is Lord from birth – arch angels called Jesus “Lord” (Luke 2:11) John the Baptist called Him “Lord” (Luke 3:4) King David called Him “Lord” (Luke 20:42-44) Even Thomas came around and called Jesus his Lord and his God (John 20:28)

A Parable (Luke 20:9-19) The Lord’s Vineyard The Men in Charge The Rejection of Authority The Last Resort – Send His Son The Lowest Contempt The Lord’s Revenge The Vital Lesson

How to Worship Jesus as Lord Not foolishly, or flippantly (Luke 6:46) No Negotiating (Luke 9:57-62) Only absolute surrender Like the blind did (Luke 18:35-41) Like lepers did (Luke 5:12) Like Peter did (Matthew 14:30) Like the dying thief did (Luke 23:42,43) Worship Especially on His day (Luke 6:5) Worship Jesus as Lord, before it is too late (Luke 13:25)!

Conclusion Don’t forget what Pharaoh finally learned…. That Jehovah reigns! How is YOUR attitude towards the very Name of Jesus? Our prayer time will never improve until “Lord” is back in our vocabulary, and the reason why we trust completely in Him! Romans 10:9,10,13 says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
