What is Domestic Violence? Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or abusive behavior perpetrated by and intimate partner against another. Domestic violence is an issue of control. How does Rahab serve domestic violence survivors and provide domestic violence awareness?
Domestic Violence: Reaching A Silent Population Most cases of domestic violence are never reported to the police according to National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) Rahab International is a voice to impact the silence of domestic violence in our church and community. Ecclesiastes 3:7
Domestic Violence: Psychological Impact Domestic violence survivors live in a prison of fear that leads to depression and other psychological problems. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7
Domestic Violence: Verbal Impact Domestic violence survivors have to overcome the verbal attacks of the abuser. Self-esteem and confidence is often damaged. “Death and life is in the power of the tongue…” Pro. 18:21
Domestic Violence: Physical Impact Domestic violence physical impact is often hidden until the issue cannot be hidden any longer. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
