1STUDIES IN GENESIS January 12, 2011 Apostle Ronald C. Hill, Sr.
2FACT REVIEWThe first five books of the Bible are commonly called the Pentateuch.
3FACT REVIEWThe Jews refer to the Pentateuch as “The Torch” and they treat it as the most important part of their Bible.
4FACT REVIEWThe third common title of their first five books is “The Book of Moses”
5In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
6“In the beginning God”The first four words of the Bible form the foundation for faith. If you believe these four words, then you can believe all that follow in the Bible.
7Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
8One of several interpretations of the Genesis account of creation, the creation-reconstruction view, says that between verses one(1) and two(2) a great catastrophe occurred, perhaps the fall of
9satan. This caused God’s original, perfect creation to become without form and void
10Proponents of this view, point out that the word translated was “HAYETHA” could also be translated “had become”. Thus the earth had become waste and empty.
11The God of Creation: God is revealed in the Bible as an infinite, external self-existent being, who is the first cause of all that is. In other words, God existed eternally and infinitely before creating the finite universe.
12The Bible does not discuss the subject of evolution The Bible does not discuss the subject of evolution. However, the Biblical view of creation is not in conflict with science; rather, it is in conflict with any worldview that denies God as the creator.
13The world is not a product of blind chance and probability; God is the one and only creator. Simply put“HE CREATED IT!”
14Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
15The image of the Spirit of God hovering over the waters is similar to a mother bird caring for and protecting it’s young.
16A. The entire Trinity, not just the Father, had a role in creation. 1. The son Himself is the powerful word through whom God Created all things.
17St. John 1:11 In the beginning was theWord, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
18St. John 1:33 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
19Colossians 1:16For by him were all things created , that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him
20Hebrews 1:2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.
212. The Holy Spirit had an active role in the work of creation 2. The Holy Spirit had an active role in the work of creation. The Hebrew word for “spirit” is “RUAH” and it is translated as breath, wind and air.
222. The Holy Spirit had an active role in the work of creation 2. The Holy Spirit had an active role in the work of creation. The Hebrew word for “spirit” is “RUAH” and it is translated as breath, wind and air.
23Psalms 33.66 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made ; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
24The Spirit of God hath made Job 33:4The Spirit of God hath mademe, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
25Psalms 104:30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created : and thou renewest the face of the earth.
26The method God used in creation was the power of His word The method God used in creation was the power of His word. Over and Over is stated “And God said;”
27And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:3And God said, Let there belight: and there was light.
28Genesis 1:6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

30Genesis 1:11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
31Genesis 1:14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

35Genesis 1:26 cont.fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
36God spoke the heavens and earth into being; before God creative word went forth, they had no prior existence.
376 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host Psalms 33: 6, 96 By the word of the LORD werethe heavens made; and all the hostof them by the breath of hisMouth.9 For he spake , and it was done;he commanded , and it stood fast.

40(As it is written , I have made Romans 4:17(As it is written , I have madethee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed , even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
41Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by Hebrews 11:3Through faith we understandthat the worlds were framed bythe word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
