Of the 17 historical books, 11 are “primary” in the sense that they advance the storyline, and 6 are “secondary” (they amplify and supplement the primary books). The latter are Leviticus, Deuteronomy, Ruth, 1 & 2 Chronicles, and Esther.
The New Testament has 3 major types of books: 1. Historical Books (the 4 Gospels and Acts) New Testament —The story of Jesus and God’s people (the Church ) since the time of Christ 2. Letters written by the Apostle Paul (sometimes called Pauline Epistles). Some of Paul’s letters are written to entire churches and some are to individuals leaders 3. Letters written by other NT authors (sometimes called General Epistles)
KJV (King James Version) “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise”. NLT (New Living Translation): “I assure you today you will be with me in paradise”. NIV (New International Version): “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise”. Message "Don't worry, I will. Today you will join me in paradise."
