End Times - Eschatology Series: Critical Doctrine Text: Mark 13:3-37

PROPHECY The Bible is unique in that a good portion of the Bible is prophetic; approximately 30%. Quite a bit of it is already fulfilled, with much of it to be fulfilled in days to come. Some of it is being fulfilled as we speak. No other holy book on earth can make this boast. There are over 300 prophecies predicting the first coming of the Messiah, and all of them were fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.

Eschatology For this introduction to Eschatology I will give you a broad overview of the level of the prophetic accuracy that the Bible reveals. Eschatology is the study of end times, it is the study of prophecy related to end times. I believe that Eschatology is that part of theology that when studied soberly, can balance out a Christian and give great insight to the Body and give us a reverent fear of God.

Israel Re-established 1948 Ezekiel 37:21-22 Israel would be re-established as a nation Jeremiah 16:14-15 The second Israel would be more impressive than the first Amos 9:14-15 Jacob’s descendants would regain control of Israel Ezekiel 37:10-14 Israel would be brought back to life Isaiah 66:7-8 Speaks of a Israel being reborn in one day

Foretold in Scripture We are living in days which the Bible described 2,000 years ago. 2Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self- control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

Foretold in Scripture Matthew 24:3-8 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no-one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, `I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth-pains.

Foretold in Scripture Scripture forewarns us of a coming world leader called the anti-Christ, and that he will make war against the Saints of God and conquer them (Revelation 13:7), it also says: Revelation 13:16-18 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no- one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666.

RFID TECHNOLOGY RFID stands for Radio-Frequency IDentification. explains that “The RFID device serves the same purpose as a bar code or a magnetic strip on the back of a credit card or ATM card; it provides a unique identifier for that object. And, just as a bar code or magnetic strip must be scanned to get the information, the RFID device must be scanned to retrieve the identifying information.” Alex Jones said, “Soon RFID tags will be in everything from pharmaceuticals to clothing... The globalists are setting up the system so there is nowhere to hide... One day every transaction you make will be identifiable. You will always be on camera and big brother will know where you are and what you do.”

Prophecy to be fulfilled I believe we are living in the times which Jesus revealed in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 which would signal His soon return. The events which we are waiting for, which will signal His soon return are: (not necessarily in this order) 1) The arrival of the Anti-Christ 2 Thes 2:1-3 2) The Great apostasy, a falling away of believers of Christ. 2 Thess. 2:1-3 3) The mark of the beast being introduced. Rev 13 4) A covenant to be made with Israel, Isaiah 28:15,18-19 Daniel 9:27, 5) The peace treaty will be broken and will result in Jerusalem being surrounded by armies. Luke 21:20 6) Rebuiding of the Temple in Jerusalem Ezekiel 40-42 (in this Ezekiel describes the architecture of the Temple to be built)

Prophecy to be fulfilled 7) The abomination that causes desolation. Mt. 24:15, 2 Thes 2:4 8)The rebuilding of Babylon, and then its final destruction. Re. 14:8 9) The Gospel preached to all nations, even by Angels. Mt. 24:14, Rev 14:6 10) The appearance of the Two Witnesses. Rev 11 11) The rise of a 10 nation federation. Revelation 17 12) The Magog Invasion. Ezekiel 38-39 13) Assyria becoming a nation again, and Assyria and Egypt becoming Christian nations. Isaiah 19

Prophecy Currently being fulfilled Johny Cartledge said, “It is very interesting to see that many of these prophecies are in the pipeline, such as: 1) Assyria becoming a nation (Currently Syria, where half the land of Assyria is located, is in a very turbulent civil war, who knows what divisions could occur) 2) Egypt and Assyria becoming a Christian Nation: Interestingly, the Assyrian side to this prophecy might already be fulfilled. The Assyrian people (the surviving remnant) are a heavily persecuted Christian people (they are extremely strong Christians) that are spread throughout Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and Turkey. The whole remnant (about 3 to 4 million) are entirely Christian, Islam hasn't seeped in. Because of that, they have been the second most heavily persecuted people in the middle east, besides the Jews. Although, they are only a scattered people and no longer a nation, so we may see them become a nation (As Isaiah's prophecy indicates).

Prophecy Currently being fulfilled Johny Cartledge continues: 3) The rebuilding of Babylon (talked about by the UN), 4) The Magog invasion (Russia's stance with Iran against Israel), 5) A one world government under a federation of 10 nations (UN gaining complete control, following the club of Rome's "10 regions of the world" plan.)

Scoffers 2Pe. 3:3-7 First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this `coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

Conclusion Turn to Jesus with all your heart. The Bible is true and everything prophesied in it is coming to pass and has come to pass. Jesus solved this problem in advance, just believe in Him who died on the Cross for your sins. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
