Love that’s grown cold 3-27-11
A reminder: Matthew 24:3-13
The signs of the end of times Nation will rise against nation Kingdom will rise against kingdom There will be famines There will be pestilence There will be earthquakes in various places
And in those times: Delivered up to tribulations You will be hated for His sake Many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another Then false prophets will rise up and deceive And lawlessness will abound In short – hurt will abound
Protected from hurt? Luke 16:33 Romans 5:1-5 Romans 8:35-37 Romans 12
Forgiving/Releasing others John 20:19-23 Matthew 16:19 Matthew 18:18 Are we so selfish that we focus only on our own hurts……or Can you see past your hurts, to see theirs?
They could see past their hurt Joseph toward his brothers David toward the unjust King Saul The prodigal’s father Esau toward Jacob Jonah toward the people of Ninevah Job and his not so supportive friends Any others?
The best example From the cross: – Jesus asked the Father to forgive mankind for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34) – He provided for His earthly mother (John 19:28- 30) – He invited a thief to eternity (Luke 23:39-43)
