The Youth's indoctrination into the glories of warfare gets him to the battle, but what keeps him there is something much less based in ideas.

6 Stephen Crane’s ideas are still relevant to today’s world through money, greed, and the corruption of the world that we people live in. We believe this is seen mainly in the world of politics, which really contains all three and is a good example of greed, money, and corruption. Stephen Crane’s view was that you live, do what you can do in life, and then die.
