Recap Essay 2: Better thesis sentences, improved focus, improved editing, better development in areas Documentation: keep working, scholarly sources, internal documentation, format Introductions: We are not doing well there. Mid course evaluations: 18 students left in the class. 13 have completed as of Saturday morning. 76%--assignments clearly explained; 15% think not 92%--making progress; 7% neutral 100%--assignments helping analyze, etc. 100%--assignments helping express self 92%--learning to find and use resources; 7% neutral
Short answers Use of technology—very positive Quality of own work—struggling with time management, work, understanding the details (probably related to time management); most feel like making progress. That’s good. Clarity—one or two people are struggling with my instructions. 1. Ask me. Ask your colleagues. 2. One of you suggested posting samples. Good idea. Tough to do this semester without permission, but remember to use the Purdue OWL. That link has a sample APA and MLA paper.
Preview Review videos for all kinds of stuff: Popular versus scholarly sources, annotated bib, proposal, scholarly paper Watch the Intro Video Most importantly: Follow the directions. Follow the format. The next 3 weeks are all about you working every day on the research paper. Read your articles, compile your sources. Those who have focused and been diligent—it’s about to pay off.
