Swimming Upstream: God’s Kingdom and Popular Culture Session Sixteen - Unique Faith theBridge Community Church

Basics ✦ Biblical Christianity recognizes Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind and the sole means of securing eternal life. This is truth.

Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV) ✦ “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

Matthew 7:13-14 ✦ Two gates - wide and narrow ✦ Two ways - easy and hard ✦ Two groups - many and few ✦ Two destinations - destruction and life

John 10:7-9 (ESV) ✦ “So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.”

John 10:7-9 ✦ Jesus is the door to salvation.

John 14:6 (ESV) ✦ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 ✦ All roads don’t lead to heaven; but any road that leads to heaven will go through Jesus.

Perspective ✦ God owes humanity...nothing. ✦ God has offered humanity...everything.
