1 Military Ball Dress Code and Etiquette

2 Remember!!!  THIS IS NOT PROM, Rules and regulations are set and you as a cadet or guest WILL follow all rules given.  This is a formal MILITARY BALL not your regular school dance.

3 Female Attire  Dress must be a LONG gown  Slits up to knee allowed  Back of dress must be above the center of the back (no lower than the bottom of the shoulder blades)  No excessive cleavage  Strapless or one strap dresses are O.K. but must stay up!  No sheer (see-through) parts or sections of dress that reveal inappropriate areas (i.e. cleavage, lower back, thighs) ‏  DO NOT take off footwear!  If unsure about dress, bring in a picture of you in it to show to Instructors

30 Male Attire (Cadet)  Must wear Class “A” Uniform at all times  Wear white button up white dress shirt with clear buttons, and must wear a black bow tie  Collar can not button down onto white dress shirt  No boutonniere  Properly fitted low quarters and pants w/ BLACK SOCKS

31 Male Attire (Cadet)   If a male cadet does not have a Blue Class A:   Wear the Green Uniform   If there are no green or blue uniforms available, THEN AND ONLY THEN, a tuxedo may be rented.

32 Male Attire (Cadet)  NO BOOTS  Must have a haircut and clean shaved  No piercings!  Wearing medals and other awards are optional but not recommended (could lose them)  Shine your brass !  You MUST have patches  The uniform MUST fit  You MUST wear ribbons

63 Receiving Line  Be on time! Receiving Line opens at 6:30pm  Female must be on the side of honor (right side) ‏  Cadet should introduce them self and their dates This is my date (name) and I am (rank)(name). This is my date (name) and I am (rank)(name).  Shake hands with the commanders of each school  A male who is not in JROTC still leads introduction

65 Bringing a non cadet  Must ask permission and get approval from Instructor’s  NO JROTC drop outs  If a cadet needs a date it must be a person from H.S.

66 Dates  You do not need a date to go to the military ball.

67 Etiquette  The food is not a buffet, share them don’t be greedy  One plate.  Small portions  Use silverware, not hands  Food stays in designated area  No Public Displays of Affection (i.e. kissing or sitting on laps) ‏  No chewing gum at any time  NO DRAMA leave it at the door  NO foul language  Do not sit on tables or window ledges. Find a chair!

69 Etiquette   NO DIRTY DANCING (i.e. grinding, sandwiching, freaking) ‏   Keep your feet on the floor   NO moshing (pushing & shoving) ‏   NO being lifted onto shoulders or carried around by anyone at any time   Be respectful to any and all instructors, chaperones, and fellow dancers   NO KISSING

70 Etiquette  The photographer will be set up downstairs, inside the receiving line  Sweet Heart and Cavalier candidates will be introduced and announced 7:40pm  Seniors will be introduced at approximately 8:00pm  RESPECT the DJ at ALL TIMES, that means DO NOT talk when he’s talking.  FOLLOW THE RECEIVING LINE GUIDELINES, IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FORMAL EVEN IF OTHER SCHOOLS DO NOT TREAT IT SO

72 DANCING  DO NOT pick cadets up off the floor  NO conga lines  NO dance offs  NO rave and/or chem lights, THIS IS A BALL NOT A RAVE
