3 Daily News Long ago, some people treated African Americans unfairly. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a bus protest. African Americans in Alabama refused to ride the buses because they were being mistreated. After a year, the protest ended, and the “White Only” sections on buses were eliminated.
