Just as the cell wall of a plant protects the cell, the Great Wall of China protects the Chinese.
Like the fence of an arena keeps everything in the arena, the cell membrane of the cell keeps everything inside the cell.
Just as a traffic cop keeps the cars from crashing into one another, the cytoplasm of a cell keeps the organelles from smashing into each other.
Like the vacuole of a cell stores food and water, a thermos holds food and liquids.
Just as a boss at work would tell her employees to do their jobs, the nucleus of a cell tells the rest of the organelles how to function.
Just as a power plant gives energy to a city, the mitochondria gives energy to the cell.
Like a butcher produces meat which contains proteins the ribosomes of a cell produce protein.
Just as a golgi body transfers waste out of the lysosome, a toilet transfers waste to the sewer.
Just as a chef makes food, the chloroplast makes food or chlorophyll for the cell.
Just as lysosomes deposits waste outside of the cell, the sewer deposits waste in the designated areas.
Just as a subway must go through the underground tunnels, the organelles must travel through the endoplasmic reticulum.
Parts of a cell What are the functions of cell organelles? What organelles are only in plant cells?
Parts of a Cell. Organelles Just like humans and other living things have organs, cells have organelles.
Cell Notes. There are two main types of cells - animal and plant These cells have very different jobs but share some of the same organelles.
Cell Structure and Function. Animal Cell Plant Cell.
Organelle nucleus mitochondria cell membrane chloroplast cytoplasm cell wall ribosome lysosome Golgi bodies vacuole endoplasmic reticulum Function controls.
Parts of a cell Goal: Students will be able to describe and label the cell organelles.
Life Science Unit 1 Chapter 3 Lesson 2 Cell Structure.
7.12D Differentiate between structure and function in plant and animal cell organelles, including cell membrane, cell wall, nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondrion,
Cell Organelles Flashcards. Plasma Membrane (Cell Membrane) Protects the cell Supports the cell Lets things in and out of the cell Plasma (cell) membrane.
PLANT CELL PARTS ANIMAL CELL PARTS CELL PARTS THAT ARE COMMON TO PLANT AND ANIMAL CELLS CELL MEMBRANE: INSIDE THE CELL WALL (PLANT) AND THE OUTSIDE.
Cell Structure and Function. Cell Membrane Regulates what enters and leaves the cell.
Animal Cell Drawing cell membrane- protects and regulates which substances enter cell.
Nucleolus Makes ribosomes in the nucleus. Chromatin Contains DNA; coils into chromosomes.
Both animal and plant cells have cell membranes that enclose the cell The cell membrane holds the cell together.
Functions of Cell Organelles. 1. nucleus - controls all cell activities 2. endoplasmic reticulum - (ER)network of passageways, carries materials within.
The Cell Theory The cell is the basic unit of structure and function (a.k.a. – life) All living things are made up of 1 or more cells Cells come from.
Cells The Building Blocks of Life Endoplasmic reticulum Cytoplasm Nucleus and Nucleolus Mitochondria Lysosome Golgi complex Cell membrane Ribosome.
Parts of the Cell. Animal Cell Various Shapes Obtain Energy.
A Tour Through the Living Cell 7 th Grade. Two Types of Cells All living things are made of cells. All cells can be put into two groups: animal cells.
Cell Organelles. A cell is like a factory. It has many machines inside to make it work correctly. The “machines” in a cell are called organelles.
Cell Parts Start Review. Cell Membrane Endoplasmic Reticulum Nucleus Ribosomes Golgi Bodies Mitochondria Lysosomes Nuclear Membrane Vacuole Plant Cell.
Cell Theory All organisms are made of one or more cells. The cell is the basic unit of all living things. All cells come from existing cells.

Cell Organelles & Functions. Cell Foldable Labels 1.Nucleus 2.Mitochondria 3.Golgi complex 4.E.R. 5.Ribosome 6.Cell membrane 7.Cytoplasm.
I can identify the structure of the nucleus. I can identify the functions and locations of the nucleus. I can identify the structure of the mitochondria.
CELL STRUCTURE Eukaryotic cells contain many organelles: small structures within a cell, sometimes surrounded by a membrane.
Created by : Jayla Williams 4/18/11. The nucleus is like a brain because the brain controls the body like the nucleus controls the cell.

PLANT & ANIMAL CELLS. THE CELL THEORY All living things are composed of cells Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in living organisms.
The Cell Revisited! THE CELL IS THE BASIC UNIT OF ALL LIFE!
The Cell is like a Factory. NUCLEUS: TTTThe nucleus is like the main office of the factory, where all activity is controlled. IIIIt contains the.
Looking Inside Cells. Organelles Cells have within them structures which carry out specific functions within the cell. Just as our heart, stomach, lungs,
Comprehensive Science 1. What is an organelle? Challenge: how can you tell a plant cell from an animal cell?
Looking Inside Cells Section 1-3. The cell wall protects and supports the plant cell.
Looking Inside Cells: Organelles What Am I?. Cytoplasm Mitochondria Cell membrane Golgi Body Nucleus Cell Wall Ribosomes Endoplasmic reticulum Chloroplast.
Cell Organelles The Elite 11. Cytoplasm Jellylike substance that organelles float in.
Question and Answer Samples and Techniques. TRUE or FALSE? Bacteria are prokaryotes.
Cell Organelle Review. This organelle converts sunlight energy into chemical energy (in photosynthesis) This organelle converts sunlight energy into chemical.
