Determining Net Force page 91
Net Force a combination of all of the forces acting on an object. Forces in the same direction are added Forces in opposite directions are subtracted.
Balanced Forces if there is a net force of zero, then the forces are BALANCED. Balanced Forces do NOT change the motion of an object. (Doesn’t start or stop moving).
Unbalanced Forces if the net force is NOT zero, then the forces are UNBALANCED. Unbalanced Forces cause the motion of an object to change. (Starts or stops moving, or changes direction).

A force is a push or pull that can cause motion (speed up, slow down, stop, move, or change direction) Force is measured in Newtons (N) Force is.

Bell Ringer: What do you think causes an object to start moving, stop moving, or change direction? What do you think causes an object to start moving,
Students should know the overall effect of many forces acting on an object at the same time. The size and direction of this net force determines the.

Set 3: Chapter 5.2 pgs What is a force? Objectives:
ForcesForces. What is a force? A force is a push or a pull. Like velocity and acceleration, a force is described by it’s strength and by the direction.
Warm Up: 1. Use the word constant in a sentence, as you would use it in science. 2. Use the word “constantly” in a sentence as you would use in every day.
How do Forces Affect Motion?
Forces and Motion. Force A Force is a push or pull on an object. Forces have a direction. Forces have a strength (magnitude) and are measured in Newtons.
Unit 4 Lesson 2 Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
Force: push or pull all forces have size and direction measured in Newtons (N) An object will speed up, slow down, or turn Only if something is pushing.
FORCE: The cause of motion (what causes objects to move) Two types of forces: Push OR a Pull Forces speed things up, slow things down, &/or changes their.
