3Q14 WILD HIGHLIGHTS
AUGUST2014 ❶ MONSTER FISH V (6X60) From Sunday ❷ WILD AUSTRALIA (4X60) From Tuesday 18:00 ❸ SHARK FEST SPECIAL Sunday 3rd from 13:00 to 18:00 HIGHLIGHTS/PRIORITIES
MONSTER FISH V (6x60) From Sunday Fish biologist Zeb Hogan heads off on another adventure searching for the world's largest freshwater fish. This season will follow him as he searches for everything from a newly found mysterious shark species to what may be the true leviathan of purely freshwater fish, the giant freshwater stingray, and he’s not afraid of the freakish, he grapples with electric eels and the ferocious teeth of the wolf fish. Zeb will travel through Asia, Australasia, South America and the good old U.S.A. Regional Relevance: Episodes of this series take place in Australia, Thailand, Brazil, Guyana, and Nicaragua.
WILD AUSTRALIA (4X60) From Tuesday 5 Australia – a continent of natural wonders! This four-part series takes you off to the kingdom of the kangaroo and red rocks with breathtaking aerial footage, riveting super slow motion and extraordinary animal stories. Yet Australia has much more to offer than its red heart: impenetrable jungle in the farthest north-east, bizarre native creatures like the cassowary and tree-kangaroo. In the east lives Australia’s teddy bear, the koala. For the first time, footage from the highest tops of the eucalyptus forest shows how radical and brutal these cuddly koalas really are! In the heat of south Australia, many marsupials have adapted to life underground: quirky wombats build giant tunnel systems, and whenever an enemy approaches they block the entrance with their hefty hindquarters. Down Under is quite unique! The red continent has never been seen as vividly as in this high- quality nature documentary series. Regional Relevance: This special takes place in Australia.
