3. Overview For 2006-2007 choice, the system will track magnet compact status on applications to all magnet programs. Every student that applies to a magnet program will track their compact status on their application. In the event that a student does not complete their magnet compact, they will not be entered into the lottery for seats at that program, but will instead be placed in the wait pool for the choice. The system will produce a report of applicants to magnet program and their current compact status. The report is formatted as follows:

Compact Status Values Possible compact status values The possible compact status values are: Code Status Description ---- ------------------------------ COMP Completed The compact has been completed. CONT Continuation Continuation student – compact not completed PEND Compact Pending Non-continuation student – compact not completed WAIV Waived Compact requirement waived. The system will assign an initial status of PEND to all new magnet applications unless the student is currently enrolled in the same magnet program at the previous level. For students enrolled in the same magnet program at the previous level, the system will assign an initial status of CONT. After the initial status assignment, all other status changes must be made manually.

9. Changing Compact Status (cont) You can then select a different status by keying a “S” next to the appropriate new status condition, and pressing. Press again and the compact status will be updated. Press F3 to return to the summary display for this student. Press F3 again to return to the ISIS display for this student. 10. Magnet Compact Key Points School site administered process. Strongly encouraged to wait until the end of the application period (January 31 st ) to start inputting compact information. May distribute compacts now (don’t need to wait unit the Magnet Fair December 10 th ). Keep compacts in safe place and organized. Student Placement Specialist to assist if there are questions.
