Typical Project Team Hierarchy Project Manager Systems Analyst Team Leader Software Developers Technical Writers Business Analyst DB Architect Senior DB Analyst Database Developers Project Managers are responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing technical projects according to strict deadlines, quality measures and within budget. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Team Leaders are responsible for insuring tasks are completed on time and up to system requirements and internal standards. They are also responsible for communicating progress to the project managers in addition to motivating and coaching the team. The systems analyst is responsible for analyzing client requirements and developing the system design and solution architecture. Team members refer to him/her whenever they require more information about what they need to develop. The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering business requirements and identifying client requirements. The business analyst may sometime take the role of the System Analyst or Team leader based on the size and complexity of the project DB Architect, his role is to make sure every database in Primus is quality checked and is created according to Primus standards. His role is to manage the database team and all databases in all projects DB Analyst, his role is to design and analyze all Primus databases. He should be able to work on replication and SQL business intelligence (OLAP, Reporting Services). His role might be extended to help the DB Architect in quality checking the database tasks. Software developers use their development skills in ASP.Net, VB.Net, ASP, Javascript, or any other coding language required to complete the tasks assigned to them. They are usually assigned to Front-end (User Interface) and Middle-tier (business logic) parts of the solution Database developers are responsible for all backend (database) components of the solution. They are part of an internal support team (parallel to project teams) called: DB Team. This team provides database related services to all technical projects ,services include: Database Analysis Database Design Database Development Database Quality Assurance Quality assurance is another internal support team responsible for insuring the quality of produced solutions and making sure it meetings system specifications and general quality standards Technical writers are also an internal support team responsible for writing technical documents such as client requirements, user manuals.
