Introduction Why Griffith became involved in the Project Investigate deposit processes and repository management solutions Develop an understanding of issues involved in digitisation of theses Increase visibility of Griffith’s research output Investigate potential relationship between ADT and PQIL

Planning and investigations (cont) Preliminary testing – ADT and PQ/UMI applications used for different ends Scanning options – in-house (Library or D&D), UniPrint, outsourcing, PQIL Copyright issues – obtain authors’ permission, protection of authors’ rights Communication with authors – formulation of letter and permission form, mail-out, responses

13 3. Scanning and digitisation 50 (+10) theses dispatched to PQIL Turnaround time 6-8 weeks Scanned files downloaded via FTP server at PQIL
