This is the Portal’s Main Page. These are the “Quick Links” to other sites within the Portal. Click on any link to instantly access that site. Clicking on the “MyGCU Home” tab will always return you to the GCU Main Page. This link will lead you to the Chartwells “Dine With Campus” website. Here you will be able to view the latest dining menus offered at GCU. This link will lead you to the Follet Bookstore Online. Here you will be able to view and order books, supplies and other GCU items online. This link will lead you to the GCU Lions official website. Here you will be able to view the game information, stats and latest news. The MyGCU Portal is based on the permissions of your network identity, therefore you will only be able to access areas that you are authorized. Members Only areas are sites to which their members (who are authorized) maintain access. Users who wish to request access to the private area of a public site will need to contact the office responsible for the site. The Download Center hosts public forms, documents pertinent to all users. The Discussion Boards are areas for all GCU users to post announcements and communicate information to the general population. Latest Discussions display the most recent posts on all message boards and Discussion Boards. If a message is posted on a private site, only those members will be able to view it. This link will lead you to the Local Maps site. Here you will be able to locate resources, such as shopping, movies, food, attractions and much more, all local to the Lakewood Campus. This site is also accessible via the For Students area. In addition, the portal is broken down into three main areas, Students, Staff, and Faculty. All student departments can be found within For Students. Staff and Faculty users will be able to access their individual departments via the For Staff or For Faculty links. If a user is a staff member and a faculty or adjunct professor, they will be able to access both their staff department and faculty department sites. Adjuncts also have access to the Faculty department areas they are employed with. The “I need to…” area is designed to help users quickly locate common resources.
The Discussion Boards are available for all GCU users to post announcements, dialog, and discuss different topics. They are moderated by different departments, mostly within Student Life. They are organized into several categories. Most recent posts can be found under Recent Discussions (grouped by category) and Latest Posts found on the upper left. To post, simply click a category.
Click Add new discussion.
Fill in the fields as necessary. Be sure to make the Topic as brief but descriptive as possible. Note within the Body, you can change font styles, add hyperlinks, bullets, and more.
Your new post can now be found under Recent Discussions (grouped by category) and Latest Posts found on the upper right.
You will additionally see it under Latest Discussions on the main MyGCU Home Page.
The For Students area is viewable by all GCU Users. To locate a department, club or organization, simply hover over the catergory on the top tool bar, and select the site/area you would like to visit. Digital copies of event posters (normally located across the campus) can be found here. Posting of event posters and Upcoming Events at GCU are maintained by the Student Affairs Office. While within the Student, Staff, or Faculty areas, you will find Quick Links. This drop-down menu will bring you to key GCU online areas.
Local Maps & Sites
The Local Maps & Sites area is designed to help users residing at the Lakewood campus find local resources. There are several categories to choose from. For example, the Local Food category displays nearby venues and their delivery status, while the Colleges & Universities category displays local schools to our GCU Lions away games are held.
After selecting a category, you will notice information concerning the individual places of interest. The map to the right is interactive; by holding down the left button of your mouse over the map, you can move the map in whatever direction you wish. Additionally, by clicking the circle to the left of the store name will automatically display its location on the map. Clicking Directions will automatically display directions from the Lakewood Campus to the place of interest.
Additionally, the category named On-Campus Services under Local Services displays service departments within the GCU Lakewood Campus. The address for these locations is based on the interactive online campus map.
