2 Transfer Goals Foster a seamless transition from Delta to a four-year university Increase the transfer participation rate of Delta students Increase the number of students who earn an Associate Degree Encourage students to see a Counselor to develop a Student Education Plan (SEP)

7 SB 1440 (Padilla) Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act 1. Students will be able to earn an Associate Degree AND prepare for transfer 2. Provides a clear pathway for transfer 3. Students will not be required to repeat similar classes 4. Upon completion of AA-T/AS-T degree, student is guaranteed junior standing to CSU 5. Priority admission when applying to a CSU 6. Priority consideration when applying to programs similar to the students community college major.

8 The Associate Degree for Transfer: AA-T or AS-T 1. To earn an “associate degree for transfer” a student must complete 60 semester units... that are eligible for transfer... that consist of:  IGETC or CSU GE Breadth  a major or area of emphasis of at least 18 units, as defined by the CCC 2. No additional local graduation requirements may be required 3. Minimum GPA of 2.0 is required

9 Counseling Considerations While in High School: 1. Improve college readiness: take rigorous courses 2. Research your options 3. Enroll in community college on time While in Community College: 1. Attend full time, work part time 2. Decide on a major and campus by sophomore year 3.
