6 PSAT October 15th – 7:30 am to noon Purchase ticket through October 7th in Guidance $23 check payable to SHS Bring calculator, ticket, photo ID, pencils Measures reading, math, writing Practice for future SAT Scores returned to SHS in December

7 CAPT March 6-15 Measures reading, writing, math, science Preparation done in all classes Scores returned in September Results are part of academic record Performance Standards tied to diploma

8 Advanced Placement (AP) ● College Board approved curriculum ● Seventeen AP courses offered at SHS ● AP Biology taken by sophomores ● Register in Guidance early February ● AP Biology exam - May 14 ● Cost - $87 ● Scores returned in July

9 SAT Subject Tests Measures content knowledge in 5 core content areas through 20 individual subject tests Required at few colleges Mostly taken end of junior and/or beginning of senior year Subject Tests in Biology and/or World History taken June 2nd sophomore year Registration for June test – May 8th
