4 Aug 2004 - Brown Academic Advising Prof Rick Gaitskell Freshmen Seminars http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/First_Year_Seminars/ Limited to a maximum of 20 students and often enrolling even fewer students First Year Seminars are an ideal way to get to know one of your professors well in an Academic setting Small size and therefore congenial setting encourages participation in lively discussion and provides regular opportunity to receive feedback from the instructor on the work you produce for the class. If you didn’t get a course in Fall, then please look out for a suitable opportunity when choosing courses for Spring semester.

8 Aug 2004 - Brown Academic Advising Prof Rick Gaitskell Rules & Regs: Summary Signature  Required to convert selection into firm registration  No penalty if make changes before deadline (see list at end) Take & pass 4 courses each semester  Expected to complete 32 courses at graduation (30 abs. min)  8 semester of full time study Flexibility  3,4 or 5 courses in a semester (although taking 3 in freshman or sophomore year erodes flexibility) Special Course Sequences  Many can take courses in any order  However, Premed, Sc. B (in general), Engineering do have very specific requirements  See course announcement bulletin
