2 Who is Jose Garcia Villa? José Garcia Villa was born on August 5,1908 in Malate, Manila, Philippines, one of six children of Guia Garcia and Dr. Simeon Villa. Villa began painting as a boy and published his first story in the Manila Times at the age of fifteen
