3 1. Compounding is the joining of two or more words into a single word 1. Compounding is the joining of two or more words into a single word. Examples, breakfast, high school.2. Derivation is forming of new words by combining derivational affixes or bound affixes with existing words as, in disadvise, re-ask.
4 3. Invention: new words are totally invented e.g nylon 4. Echoism: is the formation of words whose sounds suggest their meanings, e.g. hiss
