Gripping Grace REVIEW GRACE Humility - am I teachable? Word of God – Do I know his report? Spirit of God- Do I know his ‘nudge’? Obedience – Am I doing my part? FAITH
GRACE is critical because it is vital to everything for our spiritual present and future God’s PROVISION (Will of God) INTRODUCTION
FAITH is critical because it is vital on our side of the equation to connect with God Human ACQUISITION (Will of Man) INTRODUCTION
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 37 For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.“
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Gripping Hebrews 10:35 – 11:6 SCRIPTURE 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Gripping 1 POINT ONE CONFINDENCE
Gripping 1 POINT ONE Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective.
Gripping 1 POINT ONE Confidence is first an impulse or a sense then it becomes based upon experience
Gripping 1 POINT ONE Confidence enables us to DO ACT COMMIT Confidence needs to be ties to something additional : ENDURANCE
Gripping 1 POINT ONE Scripture urges us to not cast away confidence but to strengthen our grip upon it and assign it high value… “do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward”
Gripping 2 POINT TWO ENDURANCE
Gripping 2 POINT TWO Endurance: “the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.”
Gripping 2 POINT TWO Endurance takes us past the logical stopping points…it starts a new chapter instead of ending the book…
Gripping 2 POINT TWO Endurance takes us past the doing of the will of God into the enjoyment of the promise associated with the will of God
Gripping 2 POINT TWO FAITHFULLNESS is the process of FAITH
Gripping 3 POINT THREE THOROUGHNESS
Gripping 3 POINT THREE “ finding every opportunity and application and exploring it fully”
Gripping 3 POINT THREE “ those who believe to the saving of the soul ”
Gripping 3 POINT THREE Salvation is in its first moment life in the spirit of a man – breathed by the Spirit of God – RESURRECTION of the spirit.
Gripping 3 POINT THREE Salvation in its ultimate movement is the RESURRECTION of the body
Gripping 3 POINT THREE Salvation in its intermediate movement is the transformation of the MIND, WILL, and EMOTION NEW CREATION
Gripping CONCLUSION REWARD
Gripping CONCLUSION …not earnings (we deserve hell) … short term (change of destiny) (life – please God) … long term (new body/perfection)
