Terminating Decimals Terminating means “end” A decimal that does not continue is a terminating decimal 0.75 0.1 0.25 0.5

Repeating Decimal Also called “Recurring Decimal” The decimal occurs for infinity!! Decimals in which a digit or a sequence of digit repeats. Examples: 0.5555 0.434343 0.189189189 0.33173317

*Important Information* Sometimes a repeating decimal is shown to be repeating with putting a bar above the digits or set of digits that repeat Examples 0.333333 or 0.3 0.45454545 or 0.45 This can also be called a Vinculum!

Summary Terminating decimals are decimals that end when fractions are converted to decimals. Repeating decimals are decimals where the digit or digits repeat for infinity.
