5  Congress has reauthorized the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) – primary federal program that provides funds for child care subsidies for low-income working families.  First reauthorization in 18 years  Highlights:  Improves the health and safety of children in child care settings (annual visits for all licensed plus license exempt providers;  Makes it easier for families to get and keep the child care assistance they need (annual eligibility);  Enables children to have more stable child care;  Strengthens the overall quality of child care.
