Of Children & Families take children who have been removed from abusive/neglectful situations or have been abandoned. Amanda Ludy, President of the UNF Circle K club spoke to us about their upcoming “Backpack Drive” in the spring semester. They are now starting to collect old & new backpacks, nonperishable food, clothing, shoes, car seats, or hygiene products. Please bring your donated items each week to the meetings. Butch Shadwell is in charge of collection. Lea’s Place Volunteer Program is in need of volunteers to sit with detained children, supervise court ordered family visits, provide office support, and assist private investigators. We hope Corky Borders is back out on the tennis court on his new bionic knee soon. Gabriella Donivan and John Bates discussed peanut sales and the next membership drive. Walt Pfeil, Joke Teller Lal Ramdeen was glad to be back, but certainly not as happy as we are to have him back again. Jay Ambler explained the speaker’s absence, and discussed a little club business. W e had a chance to get better acquainted with each other last week, as our scheduled speaker was unable to attend. A good time was had by all.
