It is an important point for promoting the functions of brain and clearing the mind

8 Explanations of Ear Points
8. Sanjiao: superior to Endocrine at the base of Cavum Conchae. It is indicated in abdominal distention, constipation, edema, and obesity, etc. 9. Stomach: at the area where the helix crus terminates. It is indicated in various diseases of the stomach. 10. Lung: around the Heart. Functioning to induce diuresis and bowel movements. 11. Spleen: at the posterior and superior part of Cavum Conchae. It is good to strengthen the spleen in transportation and transformation, indicated in abdominal distension, diarrhea, constipation, and edema, etc.

12. Kidney: below the bifurcation between superior and inferior antihelix crus. It has the functions to strengthen yang, replenish essence, unobstruct the water passage, and tonify the body, indicated in lumbar pain, tinnitus, nephritis, edema, and etc. 13. Small Intestine: at the middle 1/3 of superior aspect of helix crus. It has the functions to help separate the clear from the turbid indicated in indigestion, dysfunctions of stomach and intestines.

10 Explanations of Ear Points

It has the functions to control the volume of food intake, reduce the hungry feeling. 18. Buttocks: at the posterior 1/3 of the inferior antihelix crus. 19. Abdomen: at the cavum border of Lumbosacral Vertebrae. The last two points are used for local areas.

11 Principles for selecting points
To regulate the endocrine: Endocrine, Brain Stem, Uterus, and Subcortex are selected for those who are obese due to dysfunctions of endocrine system. To enhance the excitement: Forehead should be selected for those who are obese with somnolence. To reduce intake of food: Brain Stem, Hunger and Thirst should be selected for those who are obese due to overeating. To increase the discharge: Lung, Kidney, Middle Cymba Conchae, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, and Sanjiao, etc. should be selected to increase the discharge of stools and urine. Buttocks, Abdomen and so on can be selected accordingly.

12 Tips Selected 5-10 points each time.
Tender spots of the patient should be found out first. After disinfection, the herbal seeds or ear-point needles are fixed to the points with medical adhesive tape.
