SPORT NATION This program involves students in positive extracurricular activities (sports) to help raise confidence and improve overall attitude toward school, eventually leading to higher graduation rates in Syracuse City Schools. The program provides out of season leagues, training, transportation to events, equipment, and tutoring.
LOGICAL APPROACH LIT. REVIEW Participation in high school sports leads to greater self-confidence and feelings of acceptance (Cornish and Lutz, 2009) The GPA’s of athletes were higher than non-athletes (Favor and Lumpkin, 2012) The graduation rates of athletes were higher than non-athletes (Sabo, 2012)
