4 GHG Permitting Progress Permitting continues to be dominated by the energy, oil and gas, and chemical sectors. Permitting has resulted in application of energy efficiency standards for most sources. Add-on controls are increasing, but are still only applied to a relatively small number of sources. 4

5 Permit Extension Guidance df df Primarily applies to EPA and delegated permitting authorities Key points Applicant must show that an extension is justified Case by case First request would not necessarily mean revisiting BACT, air quality analysis, etc. Second request would require a more substantive review of BACT, air quality analysis, etc.

6 Modeling Issues The short term standards continue to be difficult. Early conversations with the permitting authority are a must. Answer EPA comments!
