4 ® 4 Mission Statement The mission of the FAST User Group will be to address and resolve issues identified and to define and review improvements in functionality across the FAST system as well as drop ship acceptance issues at the facility level. The FAST User Group scope of focus will include but not be limited to; Einduction, Mail Direction, Facility Acceptance, CSA, FAST Help Desk and FAST system/application. The User Group will create ad hoc subgroups to address specific issues as necessary.

7 ® 7 Background This presentation is current through PostalOne! release 40 (Jan 2015).

8 ® 8 Introduction and Goal The eInduction application both validates mailer eDocs and performs verifications using scan data to provide mailers with visibility into mail quality data.

9 ® 9 Verification vs. Warning The eInduction application displays Verifications and warnings to mailers via PostalOne! reporting and the Mailer Scorecard. WarningsVerifications At eDoc upload and when eDoc or appointment data are updated DO NOT prevent shipment of a container Advise a mailer or logistics provider that a container is at risk of failing a verification Logged after induction, if a container fails an eInduction verification Verifications count against the mailer’s error threshold for the calendar month

11 ® 11 Payment Verification (E11P) The eInduction Payment Verification checks that the payment status is FIN or FPP for a scanned and inducted container that is matched to an eDoc. Passes Postage Statement Payment Status for Container = FIN or FPP on or within 10 days of Unload Scan Date/Time Fails Postage Statement Payment Status for Container ≠ FIN or FPP on or within 10 days of Unload Scan Date/Time Error Code E11P Error Description Payment error: eInduction container was not associated to a paid postage statement within 10 days of induction.

Passes IMcB from Container Unload Scan ≠ Any IMcB scanned and accepted on a previous appointment in the previous 45 days Fails IMcB from Container Unload Scan = Any IMcB scanned and accepted on a previous appointment in the previous 45 days Error Code E17P Error Description Duplicate Barcode (Across appointments): The IMcb for this scanned/inducted container has been previously scanned/inducted on different appointment in the previous 45 days.

Passes Appointment ID field in eInduction tables Is Null Fails Appointment ID field in eInduction tables Has a Value Error Code E14 Error Description The IMcb for a USPS transported container is associated to an appointment.

27 ® 27 USPS Transported On Appointment Warning (E14) TimingPre-Induction Applies ToAll eInduction Containers identified as USPS Transported ExclusionsNone Mailer Inputs and Reference Data Mailers Identify containers as USPS Transported using the following fields: Mail.DAT:.CSM/USPS Pickup Mail.XML: ContainerInfoData/USPSPickup Association of containers to appointments is via FAST Mail.XML messages. Please see the eInduction Guide to Mailers posted to RIBBS and the FAST User Guides at fast.usps.com for more details on appointment association. Appointment association must be updated from the initial status to prevent unnecessary warnings.

28 ® 28 Barcode Uniqueness Warning (E10P) The eInduction Barcode Uniqueness Warning notifies a mailer that a scanned container barcode also exists on other finalized postage statements and may result in duplicate container errors if not corrected. Passes IMcB from Container Unload Scan ≠ Any IMcB scanned linked to a finalized postage statement in the last 45 days Fails IMcB from Container Unload Scan = Any IMcB scanned linked to a finalized postage statement in the last 45 days Error Code E10P Error Description Barcode Uniqueness Error: Scanned IMcb from this container is associated to multiple finalized eDocs in the previous 45 days from the postage statement mailing date.

33 ® 33 Duplicate Within Appointment Warning (E45P) TimingInduction (on the SV device) Applies ToAll eInduction Containers inducted at SV locations ExclusionsNone Mailer Inputs and Reference Data Barcodes on container placards must be unique within an appointment and across all containers submitted for a 45 day period Note: This error is logged after a USPS employee determines that there are duplicate containers on the appointment. The first container scanned is retained and inducted, the remaining containers are rejected.

34 ® 34 Entry Facility Warning (E29) The eInduction Entry Facility Warning notifies that the planned entry facility is incorrect per the current version of the mail direction file.
